Olešnica
Dancers and singers who have been presenting Haná dances, songs and customs of the whole year since 1969.
The ensemble’s repertoire consists of folk customs and dances that cover the whole year in the life of the ordinary people of Haná. Selected customs are arranged into themed suites; other numbers are individual dances that can be freely combined.
The ensemble is named after Olešnica, the local name of a nearby brook. It has performed at festivals in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Serbia and other countries.
The Olešnica Doloplazy Folklore Ensemble is also the long-standing organiser of the traditional folk festival the Ride of the Kings in Doloplazy, held every year on the first weekend of July.
